On October 14, 2025, we identified and resolved an issue that caused some payment transactions to process more than once. The problem stemmed from a recent system update intended to improve transaction timestamp accuracy. Once detected, our engineering team quickly mitigated the issue, coordinated with affected partners.
During a scheduled deployment, a logic change in our transaction workflow inadvertently caused certain payment requests to re-execute under specific timing conditions. This resulted in a limited number of duplicate payment submissions to downstream gateways.
The incident began around 7:30 AM Pacific Time and was fully contained by approximately 1:30 PM. No cardholder data, credentials, or security systems were impacted at any point.
As soon as the anomaly was detected, our engineers initiated our critical-incident response protocol. We identified the root cause within hours, implemented and validated a fix across all environments, and are working directly with partners and merchants to reverse any duplicate charges.
We also continued post-incident data validation to ensure no residual effects and to confirm transaction integrity across all systems.
We’ve taken several steps to make sure this doesn’t happen again:
At Authvia, reliability and trust are foundational to every payment we power. We are deeply committed to transparency, fast resolution, and continuous improvement. We thank our partners and merchants for their patience and trust as we worked through this issue swiftly and thoroughly.
